I am SO excited! I’m a huge Fitzgerald fan—I’ve read almost all of his work, wrote so many papers on him, and left flowers on his grave. I am so so so glad that the trailer is AMAZING! The Great Gatsby is my favorite book ever! <3

clarencemight’s questions for me:

1) What favorite book of yours do you sometimes wish you’ve written yourself?
Kind of strange, but Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried. It is a compilation of war stories, and joining the army is the last thing I’d ever do, but some of the ideas in that book are brilliant, particularly the way O’Brien feels about giving voices to the dead and how there are different variations of truth. Just genius. I wish I had thought of it myself.

2) If you can be any fictional character, who would you want to be? Why?
Elaine Benes from Seinfeld or Lois Lane (circa Teri Hatcher) from Superman. Elaine because I have admired her character for years and love her humor and the fact that she’s in publishing, and Lois Lane because Superman is in love with her and she’s a kickass journalist.

3) If you could go back to the past, what would you say to your ten year old self right now?
DON’T TRADE THAT HOLOGRAPHIC PIKACHU YOU IDIOT. It’s worth like $1,000 now!

4) What were your dreams like, when you were that age?
I just wanted to be a Pokemon master.

5) What comes into your mind when you hear the word “Always”?
Severus Snape.

6) Given the chance to interview a celebrity/personality, who would you choose? Why?
CHRIS MARTIN FROM COLDPLAY BECAUSE I AM IN LOVE WITH HIM.

7) Would you rather be a) blind b) deaf or c) mute?
Mute. Sometimes I talk too much anyway.

8) Is there a Disney movie that you’ll never get tired of?
Hercules!

9) Do you watch Castle? If yes, then we could be best friends. Haha.
