My Top 5 favorite albums of 2011:
1) Coldplay ♫ Mylo Xyloto
What a surprise that this album is my favorite album of the year! I started following its progress in 2010 so you can imagine my excitement when it was finally rearing completion. It is everything I hoped it would be, and more. Whenever I think about 2011 I will always think about of the songs MX/Hurts Like Heaven, and how happy I felt to see them live for the first time.
2) Patrick Stump ♫ Truant Wave
Another favorite band of mine is Fall Out Boy, and since they have been on hiatus for quite a while I was very eager to hear some of Patrick Stump’s solo stuff. I certainly wasn’t disappointed! The tracks are so fresh and fun, and I love the music video for Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia), it’s so inspirational. Also loved Soul Punk!
3) Oh Land ♫ Oh Land
The only reason I heard of Oh Land was because I was asked to write an article about her for Cliché Magazine. I fell in love with her style and her music immediately. I really enjoyed this album very much, especially We Turn It Up and White Nights!
4) Adele ♫ 21
Of course the best-selling album of the year had to make my little list. I love Adele! I think she’s beautiful and inspirational and wonderful, and this album was just as great as her last. While Someone Like You is one of my favs, according to iTunes I listened to One and Only a lot more!
5) Science&Aesthetics ♫ Science&Aesthetics
Last but not least, I really enjoyed Science&Aesthetics’ debut EP, available on iTunes. I interviewed them for Cliché Magazine (interview out soon!) and they are such talented, wonderful boys. Key tracks for me are definitely Once Upon a Time and Death and the Sea!
